Expecations!

It's been awhile since I've posted any blogs........I'm back today to post some random blogs! I've also created a blog called Behind the front door of the Griffin Home, take a moment to check it out and let me know what you think! I'm going to blog about expectations today....I wrote this piece in my journal a few years ago when Jake decided not to play basketball. We all have expectations, ways we think things are going to go.....the way people act towards us, or act in general. We expect that the water is going to be hot when we turn on the hot water. We expect that the car will start when we turn the key. we expect that our loved ones will always love us, no matter what. We expect that others will treat us fairly and be kind. When our expectations are not what we expect, we may get mad, be sad or get annoyed. Our thought process has to change. We expected that Jake would play basketball. He was eligible, he is a great player, but he decided he didn't want to and now we have to change our thought process. It is a loss to us because we expected to watch him play basketball, we thought he enjoyed playing. But what we expected to happen is not going to happen. I am sad, but I respect the decision he has made. He doesn't want to play, he says he is burned out and not having fun. I have to respect his decision. I will miss watching him play.
